Yes, millions will die long after their first getting COVID. Expect 5-10% of populations dead in 5 years after "it is mild, everyone will get it eventually" lifting of preventions and forcing everyone to "return to normal." China understands the long game like no one else.

The US should be at the high end of that range with current underlying health issues in the population. Other Western countries with similar "let it rip" strategies will likely be in the mid to lower range of that. Still 5% dead is a lot of dead people.
