It's true USAID helped some people but it's also true they wasted much more money. $20 million to make a Sesame Street in Iraq, $2 million on pottery classes in Morocco? And that's just a few small examples. We know government spending is out of control and that waste occurs, it's about time someone addressed it.

Individuals at USAID have refused to provide information regarding various grants and programs. So shutting things down makes sense in order to coerce transparency from USAID. Programs that advance US interests will be restored.

If China's interactions with Africa are transactional, then America's aid to Africa should also be transactional. Africa should not benefit from our "no-strings-attached" aid while also taking horrendous, predatory loans from China. If they want our aid, they need to cut their ties with China (same way Panama will bow out of the Belt and Road initiative because of Trump)

If China's interactions with Africa are transactional, then America's aid to Africa should also be transactional. Africa should not benefit from our "no-strings-attached" aid while also taking horrendous, predatory loans from China. If they want our aid, they need to cut their ties with China (same way Panama will bow out of the Belt and Road initiative because of Trump)
