China’s economy has been growing well the last 35 years, to become the world’s 2nd largest economy (measured in USD).
When it comes outward migration of Chinese, that has been happening for a thousand years.
You will encounter Chinese in just about every country in the world. They migrate for a lot of reasons from adventure to new opportunities. Some places have been popular for Chinese men to find wives or to go into business.
Most migration of Chinese has been to other parts of Asia. We could say to other parts of the neighbourhood. The reality is only 3.5% of Chinese live overseas, of which 2.5% are in Asia.
The data says there has been a minimal amount of migration out China. For reference …. 2.7% of Americans live overseas, as does 8% of Brits and 8% of Canadians.
As Asia becomes the global economy centre, more opportunities will arise in the neighbourhood and those who want to benefit from this shift will spend more time in Asia including China.
As opportunities expand in China:
Some Chinese may return, but it is not likely to be significant.
The volume of foreigners seeking to go to China is expected to grow, however they will need to have skills China values to be accepted, which limits the number foreign migrants.
There are roughly 1,400,000 foreign migrants living in mainland China; 600,000 from its territories - Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and 800,00 from the rest of the world.

China has around 1.44 billion people, which is roughly 4.33x that of the US.
That’s a lot of people. That’s also a lot of competition for jobs.
An American looking for a job would have to compete with approx. 4x the number of people looking for the same job.
So if you’re not fortunate enough to have gotten hired, then what do you do?
Rather than waiting for that to happen, many parents in China plan ahead and send their kids abroad to study and try to find jobs there since there is much less competition.
That’s why there will always be people emigrating out of China.
That’s also why there will always be people emigrating out of India, Indonesia, or any other highly populated countries.
Even in non-highly-populated countries, there will always be people emigrating to other countries for a variety of reasons.
But no matter what country it is, no one would be allowed to stay unless they’re able to bring some value to the country receiving them.
The same goes for people who want to immigrate to China. Language is another factor to consider since Chinese is not the easiest language to learn.

America is a failing nation and I suspect that however hard America and her Western allies try to stop or even slow China it will not work.
The really crazy thing is that the Western nations did this to themselves and it started when they sent most of their manufacturing to China. China took over manufacturing for the planet when that happened and they are only growing faster by the day.
The Western elites got too greedy for money and they made the largest mistake the world has ever witnessed when they did that.
But we must ensure that none of those people ever get to leave the US or any of the Western nations because they will infect every other nation they touch if they are set free to continue along the path they chose.

No and no.
Emigration:
Chinese emigration is based not on the problems of the Chinese economy, but on high competition within the Chinese society. Every Chinese knows that he can achieve a brighter future outside of China just because the stupid laowais do not have real knowledge about life, science, and so on. Often this is even true for several reasons -
1. The habit of learning, instilled in childhood, gives them an advantage in the more knowledge they have when they finish school.
2 Growing up in the conditions of fierce competition teaches them to look for any way out in order to bypass rivals while remaining within the frxwork of strict rules.
Moreover, the authorities encourage this way of thinking, as it allows them to gently get rid of passionaries, who could otherwise create problems for the authorities.

Immigration:
Due to the high competition in Chinese society, there is no place for immigrants. There are no jobs for immigrants to take without taking away income from local residents, and CCP carefully monitors this situation, first of all taking care of its fellow citizens. Of course, there are some areas where CCP allows foreigners to take local jobs due to the inability of locals to do the same job, but as soon as they find a local alternative (or think they have found it), they immediately close the position with local employees. Because of this, it becomes more and more difficult for them to attract foreigners to take some opening positions, which also stimulates the government to pay more attention to the training of local specialists. Thus, this process is self-sustaining and is especially exacerbated in the context of economic upheavals.
(Immigration):

Their is a strong Correlation between dysfunctional economies and emigration. But this alone cant explain emigration. A growing economy alone won't curb emigration too much, the key is usually development, and as China continues to develop, and is now a developing country we'd expect to see fewer emigrants for economic reasons.
Factors like internal conflict are also great predictors of emigration. This is not applicable to China.
However this alone can't explain the numbers we see for China.
As China has developed we see a mild downward trend since the 1970s. But the 2000s saw more increases to emigration than decline. In fact as China has become a developing country in the last decade or see we've seen an increase in net migration. For 7 consecutive years emigration per 1000 people has increased. Why?
Well, development can actually lead to higher rates of emigration in certain circumstances. An impoverished undeveloped country typically doesn't see much emigration as people don't have the means to afford to leave the country! For example African emigration has picked up as countries have developed. Usually this begins to slow as a nation approaches a developing status. But their is a third factor I have yet to mention. Rich countries correlation with higher levels of immigration. But democracies have an even stronger correlation. Plenty of the gulf states are quite developed, and although they have plenty of migrants, these are mostly workers on visas working temporarily abroad to make money and then going back home or migrating to the West.
People vote with their feet. China's autocratic and strict nature isn't universally admired even in China. Many feel unsafe, unwelcome or even sidelined by governments that don't allow for participation by the common people. This coupled with China's lack of a desire for immigration explains why China's net migration has continued to increase even though its become more prosperous and it has reached a developing status. People who have maybe wanted to leave for a while now have the means to.
Also Hong Kong has seen alot of emigration since the new security laws came in place last year. People in Hong Kong were generally content with their old system and long for participation and guarantees of rights they were accustomed to, therefore many have left for the West.
